  7. Timbuktu Pro Free Trial Version:

  9.  - Works for up to seven days from the date of installation
  10.  - Works on up to three Macintoshes

  13. Timbuktu Pro FTV will not work with regular versions of Timbuktu Pro or
  14. previous versions of Timbuktu.

  17. Timbuktu Pro Free Trial Version requires:
  18. Mac Plus or later
  19. System 7.0 or later.
  20. 4 MB RAM
  21. AppleTalk or TCP/IP network.  TCP/IP operation requires MacTCP 1.1.1 or
  22. later, MacTCP 2.0 or later is strongly recommended.

  24. The FTV is an image file in a stuffit archive. Once un-compressed, you have
  25. two choices:
  26.  
  27. 1. Get DiskCopy 4.2 (a freeware from Apple) or higher and load the image
  28. file in DiskCopy. Then "Make a Copy" from the DiskCopy application. It will
  29. ask for a disk and copy the content of the image file into the disk. Then
  30. you can run the installer from that disk.

  32. 2. Get MountImage (a freeware from Apple) which is a control panel device.
  33. Start the Macintosh with MountImage loaded. Open the MountImage CDEV. From
  34. there, open the Timbuktu Pro image file. That you will see a disk icon
  35. appear on the Finder desktop. Then you can run the installer from that
  36. (fake) disk. Caveats when using MountImage apply.

  38. Note: Except for the restrictions above, this is a fully functioning copy
  39. of Timbuktu Pro.  This Installer will replace any existing version
  40. of Timbuktu on your system, but it will NOT modify your TB2 Preferences
  41. file.  To reinstall an older version of Timbuktu after using the Trial
  42. Version of Timbuktu Pro:

  44. 1. Launch the Free Trial Version installer.
  45. 2. Select Customize.
  46. 3. Shift-select Timbuktu Pro Free Trial Version and/or Catalogs Extension
  47. 4. Hold down the option key, and click "Remove"
  48. 5. Reinstall your older version of Timbuktu.
  49.  
  50. This will preserve your existing system settings.
